All Colombian citizens, regardless of the length of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days, are required to pay a national sales tax (19%) on their accommodation during their stay. Foreign citizens with a tourist visa are exempt from paying this tax. If the person subject to tax and another person exempt from tax share the same room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. De conformidad con la legislación fiscal de Colombia, los ciudadanos extranjeros y los ciudadanos colombianos no residentes que reciban el sello PIP3, PIP5, PIP6, PIP10, TP7, TP11 o el visado TP12 a su entrada en el país quedarán exentos del pago del impuesto del 19 % en concepto de IVA. La exención solo se aplicará en caso de reservar paquetes turísticos (alojamiento más servicio). El permiso correspondiente deberá presentarse a la llegada.
