All Colombian citizens, regardless of the length of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days, are required to pay a national sales tax (19%) on their accommodation during their stay. Foreign citizens with a tourist visa are exempt from paying this tax. If the person subject to tax and another person exempt from tax share the same room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Colombian citizens must pay 19% sales tax for the reservation. Rates for foreign guests will be exempt from sales tax. Please show your immigration form at the hotel to guarantee exemption. In accordance with Colombian laws the only exemptions apply to Tourists with Entry and Stay Permits with PIP-3, PIP-5, PIP-6 or PIP-10 stamps, or the TP-7, TP-11 or TP-16 temporary visa.
