VAT exemption is available for travelers who present a valid passport and tourist visa proving they are not residents of Ecuador. Nonresident travelers who present a valid passport and tourist visa may be eligible for a tax refund. However, nonresident travelers may be exempt from value-added tax (15%) on package bookings.
