Almost everything was perfect.

The room used to be a bit cold even with the heater on, meals were a bit expensive and they didn't clean the room but the rest was great.

At first it was difficult to find the reception

I only stayed 2 nights and was attracted to it for the low price. I have visited Tallinn a number of times in different types of accommodation. The one thing I was concerned about were reviews of noise.. There is road within 4 meters of hotel so when first entering I noticed the curtains were sheers that let a lot of light in and road noise was heard, but not bad but pulling the thick blackout curtains reduced it to barely audible. That only applies to the rooms facing the street, there was no noise in the hallway or rooms opposite. My overall impression was that it was in excellent condition, everything seemed new, for the price I could not imagine a nicer place, very clean, quality bedding, and very comfortable. There was plenty of storage area, the shower/bathroom was small it was fresh and clean with quality fixtures. I enjoy walking so it was in a great location with fascinating historic forts and restored buildings from 1300 on within 2 blocks and hiking through the hill top park is a short cut to Old Town. Bus and tram services is very close but I walked everywhere and really enjoyed the 3 day short trip. Tallinn is one of the two Jewels of the Baltic, along with St Petersburg, and having options foe low cost but comfortable like-new rooms and décor, even less than some hostels is that much more incentive to put Tallinn high on your must see list. I will definitely book City Hotel again. Some had reported hair so I took close inspection of everything and can say I did not even find a spec of dust.. No indication of wear on anything..

The only nit to pick, before seeing the room was needing to check in 1/2 a block away at the reception desk of the main, rather upscale hotel. But it only took a second, had my room card.. and in my room in less than 4 minute.. There were cleaning staff working in the separate building I was in and the girl I met was multilingual and very helpful when asking her for destinations.

there was no air conditioner but, luckily, it was possible to open the windows and let some fresh air in.
