On the first floor of the hotel, you’ll find the house temple, a private peaceful space for family worship dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Peek in and you’ll see paintings depicting the Hindu deity and his four animal chariots (a mouse, peacock, lion and horse); and you may see staff carrying out the sacred puja and aarti rituals, a tradition that’s been kept up twice a day for more than 100 years. There’s WiFi, but rooms are TV-free to encourage a little digital detoxing.
