Great hotel with an excellent location right on the beach, perfect for those looking to explore off the beaten path or conveniently walk a few blocks to Walmart. When booking online from the service I used, it was advertised as a hotel fee per night, not per person. However, upon arrival, there seemed to be some confusion as it was actually per person. Fortunately, they honored the original price, and we had an amazing time. The room was fantastic. Just a heads up, in Cancun and PDC, there's a practice of not flushing toilet paper, which was a bit of an adjustment for us. Just like the pictures on the website. It was clean

We stayed at the Carmen to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It was my first time to Cancun and Playa del Carmen however my wife had been to the region staying in all inclusive resorts seven times prior. We choose The Carmen because of it’s location, style and amenities. It was ideal as we drove to Playa Akumal to swim with sea turtles, Tulum to visit cenotes, Chichén Itzá to visit the Mayan ruins, Valladolid for a special dinner at El Atrio and of course we took the ferry over to Cozumel to snorkel on a tour around the island swimming with starfish, schools of fish and beautiful reefs as well as manta rays. The staff at The Carmen was wonderful, friendly and professional. The hotel restaurant was under construction and the breakfast on the 5th floor pool terrace was moderate but we would definitely stay here again because it was easy to walk to all the fantastic restaurants, dance clubs and nite life. We understand the owner lives in Colorado and we would gladly support promoting The Carmen hotel to those who follow us on social media. Our room was cleaned each day and we requested additional bath towels each night. Due to the humidity and countless adventures in the Caribbean we took a lot of showers. Hector the Food & Beverage manager was great, the entire front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. We needed a functioning hair dryer, more shampoo and body wash and they took care of it promptly.

Honestly nothing was a major issue. The TV didn’t connect to the WiFi our first night but it was fixed the next day so we could enjoy it. Would have been nice to have a telephone in the room to call the front desk when we needed towels, more shampoo etc. but we just walked down as needed.
