Staff & Service was excellent

We recently stayed at Eden Rock over Memorial Day weekend and had a great stay for the most part. The staff was kind from the moment we checked in, the service by the pool and beach was fast, the guests were very friendly and the hotel as a whole wasn’t overly packed. We read many reviews before booking and the one common trend we saw was that customers were unhappy with the rooms. After completing our stay, It makes sense now. The hotel has many balconies that overlook the water, which is a huge plus. The downfall, the hotel is carpeted - it’s disgusting. Our room had stains on the carpet, but worst of all significant mold. We left some of our luggage on the ground including a jacket inside a backpack that was wet and smelled horrific by our last day. We took photos of the mold and had to let our stuff try to dry before we packed on the balcony. We got home and threw out our luggage and jacket because It was we were concerned for our health. We went to the front desk who at first wasn’t understanding, until we brought down the jacket and asked her to smell It realizing this was a much larger issue. We asked for a later check out, she’d say she’d have to check and then we said the room isn’t usable! You need to put It out of service! The sheets and pillowcases have stains on them. Badly enough that we had to call for new ones - those also have stains. We felt uncomfortable sleeping feeling that the room wasn’t properly cleaned and the smell from the mold. My girlfriend developed a cough over the span of few days before we saw how bad the mold was. We would’ve been booking this again if It weren’t for the outdated room and lack of hygiene. Such a shame.

Beach was lovely and beach staff helpful. Pool service was good and we liked the choice of pools. Room was comfortable, we enjoyed having a large balcony but they need to upgrade the furniture which is really uncomfortable.

Public areas of the hotel are clean but we stayed four nights and there was no housekeeping in our room. I understand some changes due to the pandemic but when you stay somewhere four nights there should be some basic housekeeping, eg trash should be emptied or toiletries in the bathroom replenished. Elevators are VERY slow. At points, only one out of three elevators worked causing very long lines and up to 20 minutes to get to room.

The beach front property is very good for relaxation.

The Hotel is very Dirty and dated. Our room was disgusting when we checked in, one side of the carpet had visible marks of vomit from god knows when. Bathroom was so dirty that there visible hair from previous occupant. After checking in at 5, I had to go to the front desk 3 times to get any attention to get our room, since no one answered the phone. Around 10:30 at night the front office manager showed up to our to tell us that there were no housekeeping personnel to help us. Finally we cleaned our room ourselves since we have to spend the night here. Day 2 around 2 PM our room was cleaned. Room service was completely non responsive. We ordered bottle of champagne but never received it. No one takes any accountability. Only the beach services were satisfactory, received consistent service there. Being there during Pandemic time I felt very unsafe, which I warned all my friends about for not staying there. There were no sanitation station anywhere in the lobby, very few people were wearing masks in the lobby. Food and beverage at the lobby was very poor. We spent majority of our time eating out. I had far better service and seen far better cleanliness at Hampton Inn. Would not recommend this hotel at all. Food and beverage service was very poor. Wine menu is very poor. Day1: checked in to a dirty room at 5. Since no one answered our call, I made myself available at the front desk 3 times, finally at 10:30 pm the front office manager showed up to our room, only to tell us that there are no house keeping personal in the hotel and apologized for it. Me and wife then cleaned our room. The carpet had vomit stain and bathroom was dirty. Our room was finally cleaned on Day 2 around 3 pm. Day 3 there were no house keeping. We stayed at a Hampton Inn on our way in the road trip to Miami. Compare to the Hampton Inn room, this room was filthy, but Eden Roc was supposed to be a 4.5 star hotel. The hotel is filthy and dated. No one has any accountability except the Valet.
